1. Who we are
We design websites and provide local SEO services for trade businesses. For the purposes of UK GDPR, DGN Digital is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What we collect
When you contact us or complete our online signup form, we collect:
- Your name and the name of your business
- Contact details — email address, phone number, business address
- Business information you provide — services, trading history, qualifications, target areas, brand details and similar
- Files you upload — logos, photographs of your work and team, accreditation logos
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and date/time of visit, collected automatically if analytics is enabled
3. How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you fill in our signup form or contact form, or email or message us
- Automatically, through cookies and analytics tools when you visit our website (if enabled)
4. Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your data to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, deliver our services, build and host your website, and keep records. Our lawful bases are:
- Contract — to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform our contract with you
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and run and improve our business
- Consent — for any optional analytics or marketing cookies, where applicable
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Netlify — website hosting and form submission handling. Form data and uploaded files are processed and stored on Netlify's infrastructure. Data may be transferred outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
- Google (Google Workspace) — business email. Google may transfer data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
- Google Analytics — website usage analytics, if enabled. See Google's privacy policy.
- 123 Reg — domain and DNS provider.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as we need it. Enquiry and signup data from people who do not go on to become clients is kept for up to 12 months and then securely deleted. Where you become a client, we keep records relating to the contract and any invoices for 7 years, in line with HMRC requirements. Website analytics data (if enabled) is retained for up to 26 months.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies — small text files placed on your device when you visit. Where we use any non-essential cookies (such as analytics), we will ask for your consent first. You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect how the website works.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@dgndigital.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
